Festival season in Washington is no small potatoes. Lately we’ve been having to report on so many great festivals in this state that it’s making our collective heads spin. What can we say other than the scene has great local music out the ass. Yesterday, the organizers behind the West Seattle Summer Fest unveiled their 2016 lineup, and, no surprise, it’s glorious. Just two weeks before the Capitol Hill Block Party, local music enthusiasts can show up to the West Seattle Junction for free to catch many great locals, among them Tacocat, Grace Love, Pillar Point, Christian Mistress, and many more over the course of three days.
With a lineup that boasts everything from Americana to heavy metal to poppy post-punk to synthpop to live DJ sets, and everything in between, West Seattle Summer Fest is one of those festivals that helps cement Seattle as a musical city. With the added bonus of shopping, festival food, rides for the little ones, and a beer garden, this is destined to feel like a truly communal event for the residents of the Emerald City. Check out the full printed lineup below. For more information about the festival’s going-ons, consult http://westseattleblog.com/2016/05/west-seattle-summer-fest-2016-see-and-hear-the-music-lineup/.
