Jazz Alley Welcomes Albert Lee with Special Guest Cindy Cashdollar

albertandcindy2015_2The Pacific Jazz Institute at Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley welcomes two Grammy-winners, together for the first time, guitarist Albert Lee and dobro/steel guitarist Cindy Cashdollar for three nights only! Band members are TBA. Show times Tuesday – Thursday at 7:30pm. Doors open at 6pm. Purchase tickets HERE

Albert Lee is one of the most respected guitarists in the country-rock music scene. Lee made his name touring with the likes of Eric Clapton, The Everly Brothers and Emmylou Harris’ Hot Band through the seventies and eighties, but has maintained a highly devoted fan-base. Respected as much for his unparalleled picking-style as well as his upbeat attitude.

“One of the finest guitar players who ever walked this earth…” – Vince Gill

Lee recently celebrated his 70th birthday with an album, documentary and anniversary concerts – marking over 53 years in the music business! This raw and emotional record pays tribute to many of Albert’s musical influences – the classic rock ’n’ roll of the Everly Brothers’ “Bye Bye Love,” the deep feeling and passion of Rodney Crowell’s ballad “Till I Can Gain Control Again,”and the centerpiece of the album in Jimmy Webb’s “The Highwayman” – a powerful and dramatic, and most probably definitive, version of a true musical masterpiece. “Highwayman” features 12 honest and unapologetic renditions of some of Albert’s all-time favorite tracks – recorded live and captured in a moment of true inspiration – and truly represents, to quote the man himself, “the album I’d always wanted to record.” This is Albert Lee as close and personal as you are ever likely to hear. Known for her lush, vibrant tone and impeccable intonation, Austin-based Dobro and steel guitarist Cindy Cashdollar is one of the planets finest lap slide guitarists. She has played with Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, the Dixie Chicks, Dolly Parton, and Merle Haggard, and she earned five Grammy Awards as a member of the swinging Asleep at the Wheel.

Cindy’s unerring ability to perfectly compliment a song or step out with a tasteful, imaginative, and exciting solo – and to do it in so many musical genres – has made her one of the most in-demand musicians on the American roots music scene. Her debut CD, Slide Show, features guest artists comprising a Who’s Who of the contemporary roots scene. More information: www.cindycashdollar.com

“Equally at home picking a vintage Dobro, an old National resonator guitar, or laying down fat horn voicings on a tripleneck 8-string steel, Cashdollar is a master of bluegrass, gutbucket blues, honky tonk, swampy R&B, and Western Swing.” – Frets Magazine

And, in answer to her most frequently asked question, yes, Cashdollar is her real name.
