The 4 Peaks Music Festival recently announced the daily performance schedule for their 2016 outing, held June 16th through the 19th in Tumalo, Oregon. Main headliners Jackie Greene Band (Friday) and The Chris Robinson Brotherhood (Saturday) are enticing enough for fans of old-fashioned rootsy and blues rock, but throw in the Jeff Austin Band, The Stone Foxes, Della Mae, and many more, and you’ve got a hit on your hands. Performers hail from as far away as Nashville, Tennessee to Bend’s backyard.
Local rockin’ old-time band Honey Don’t kicks off the festivities Thursday night on the side stage, followed by Portland bluegrass quartet The Student Loan String Band, whose performance may or may not feature some unannounced special guest performers. Friday’s schedule includes the aforementioned Jeff Austin Band, Portland troubadours The Good Time Travelers, and local electro-funk outfit Elektrapod all warming up the crowd for big headliner The Jackie Greene Band. Poor Man’s Whiskey, 4 Peaks’ unofficial outlaw party band, will lead the late night festivities in the tent.
Saturday begins with a Merle Haggard tribute set, featuring many of the weekend’s performers. Blues legend Robben Ford, funk band World’s Finest, and country jam rockers Grant Farm all grace the stages before The Chris Robinson Brotherhood. Portland’s Crow and the Canyon, along with special guests, will keep the music going long into the night. Sunday will see The Students of String Theory show their chops before local jam-grass band Moon Mountain Ramblers wraps up the festival.
4 Peaks has upped the ante this year by adding new events and expanding previously well-received ones. The 2016 festival will add another day of yoga, more music, a larger Kid’s Area, and a grander selection of beverages. This year includes a luxury RV camping option as well as music lessons for children. After the music ends on the main stage, the big screen goes up for Movies Under the Stars. For the night owls, a late night Silent Disco will keep people dancing in the tent.
4 Peaks’ mission is to provide a multi-day music event in beautiful Central Oregon, featuring an array of eclectic, national, regional and local bands for music enthusiasts, community members and families. The stage is set for the 9th year, as we bring people from all over the region, benefiting the economy of Bend and its surrounding communities. Located in beautiful Tumalo, Oregon, just outside Bend, the Rockin’ A Ranch is 40 acres of country goodness, complete with flat pastures and world-class mountain views.
This four-day festival frequently sells out years after year, so getting tickets as soon as possible is ideal. You can find out more pass information at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/4-peaks-music-festival-2016-bend-or-tickets-21386348143.
